The Easiest Way to Remove a Cherry Pit

If you don’t have a handy cherry pitter, that is. :)

How to Remove a Cherry Pit Using a Paper Clip
Step 1: Take you paper clip and bend the two bends that are together away from each other, giving yourself a bit of a handle.

Step 2: Remove stem.

Step 3: Using one of the curved edges of the paper clip, pierce the skin and maneuver the paper clip around the pit, breaking it away from the rest of the cherry.

Step 4: With the curved edge hugging the pit (kind of hooking around the back of the pit), give a little pull and it comes right out!

Easy as can be!  I can get through a whole pound of cherries in about 5 minutes using this method and just thought I’d pass along the handy tip.

PS – I’ve got a recipe coming right up for you to test out your new cherry-pitting skills!
