I went for a walk this morning and oh my goodness! I feel so grateful for this beautiful new place in Atlanta that we’ve moved to. I grew up 30 minutes away from where we live now and never knew this gem existed. Our neighborhood has miles and miles of walking trails that wind through the woods, giving you a beautiful show of the trees that are on fire with color right now. And we’re in the city, but it’s the quietest place I’ve ever lived because all these trees insulate us from traffic noise. Peaceful is what it is. Truly.
We are finally settled in enough that we felt comfortable bringing Frank home this weekend (our dog, he’s been staying with my parents while we get the house set up) and I think one of my greatest pleasures in life is to go walking with dear Frank. At ten years old, he’s laid back enough that we casually stroll, stopping to look at pretty things and take pictures all along the way. He’s the best walking buddy. I had every intention of writing up a post with more “before” photos of our house but I can’t seem to find my camera cord in the mass of boxes sitting in our basement at the moment. So I thought I would share a few iPhone photos from our walk instead. (More photos on my Instagram here.)
Days like this are all sorts of inspiring and invigorating. It’s a shame that I have to spend the rest of the day building Ikea shelves and unpacking boxes (cross your fingers that my camera cord shows up!). But I am so happy to have these trails to walk (and maybe run, I’m starting to get the itch to run again) when I need a break. How lucky am I?
