I just got back from a run to Target and had to share some of the awesome dresses they have right now. I’ve been searching for longer length dresses for months and I finally got a few that I love. It’s proven difficult to find just the right fit, fabric and length (not to mention price), but all of these get my stamp of approval. Plus, it’s a nice alternative to jeans when it’s just too hot out.
I bought this dress in black and with a statement belt and a straw fedora, it’s the perfect day-to-evening outfit (I plan on wearing exactly that this weekend for a family reunion), but it’s so flattering and comfortable that I’m tempted to get the other colors too. It’s a high-low dress that doesn’t go too high in the front (still below the knee) so it seems like the perfect high-to-low ratio. I plan on getting lots of mileage out of this dress. You know I love bohemian-inspired clothing (exhibits A and B), and these are great options for summer. I got the one on the right and here’s a plus about this dress: because of the solid black bandeau top, it’s very easy to wear a black t-shirt underneath to give more coverage up top. So you can go bare shoulders if you’re at the beach, or a little more covered up depending on the occasion. Here’s the left and the right.
I actually didn’t get any of these, but they are awesome. I love the bright colors and the stripes on the end two. That left one would be great with a thick belt. Here’s the yellow one, and the blue chevron dress on the right.I love this skirt! It’s so flowy and pretty when you walk. It’s a silky, polyester fabric that moves nicely and allows plenty of breeze so it doesn’t get hot under there (my complaint with some maxis I’ve worn before). And because of the sheen, it can be dressed up or down for daytime or evening depending on how you accessorize. I picked the bright salmon color, but that muted green was a close second.
