Engraved Wood City Maps by Neighborwoods

Engraved Wood City Map of Los Angeles by Neighborwoods (via All Sorts of Pretty)I just discovered these really neat wooden city maps on BRIKA and had to share them!  I think they are so cool.  The artist, Aymie Spitzer, is a graphic designer who researches citites, then carefully designs and draws each one by hand before printing out a prototype on paper to make sure you can read all the little neighborhoods and then finally has her design engraved on beautiful cedar wood so each piece is slightly unique due to wood variations.

And best of all, at just under $100, you can get a really unique piece of art that is ready to hang (no expensive framing necessary) and you can show visitors where they are and where all the cool stuff in your city is!  A great conversation piece for sure.  I think it would also make a really thoughtful gift for someone who just recently moved to a new city.

The only problem is that they don’t have my city of Atlanta!  But maybe it’s in the works :)  If so, then I am definitely finding a place in our new home for the beauty.  There are a ton of different cities available (in the US, Canada and abroad) so you might be able to find where you live – do they make your city?  Find the rest at Brika.

Your blog is so creative, fun, and eye catching. I really have enjoyed your posts. Thank you for sharing! The map reminds me of a tray. I bought my husband a Nantucket wooden laser cut tray from this company called Nautical North in St Armand’s Circle in Florida. It takes the map into three dimensions-gorgeous colors, too. Tables, clocks, as well as trays are available @. https://store.nnchart.com/. Enjoy!
